The day starts early

A cadet's day typically begins before sunrise with physical training, followed by breakfast and a full academic schedule. Afternoons are given to games and activities, evenings to supervised study.

Hostel life

Cadets live in houses, each with its own identity and inter-house competitions in sport, drill and academics. Younger cadets share dormitories and learn quickly to manage their own kit, time and routine.

The first year is an adjustment

Most families underestimate this. A ten or eleven year old living away from home for the first time will find the first few months hard, and that is normal. Schools build in structured support, and cadets almost always settle.
